The CanvasCamp Big Horn Ridge Tent combines the robustness of a classic ridge tent with the comfort of modern materials. Thanks to its rectangular shape and high interior, this tent offers significantly more usable living space than many traditional tent models. This makes the Big Horn series particularly suitable for families, long camping trips, base camps, and semi-permanent setups.

The reinforced polycotton canvas provides an excellent balance of durability, protection, and comfort. This gives the tent reliable resistance to rain, wind, and sun, while the breathable material simultaneously ensures a pleasant indoor climate. Moreover, the canvas helps to limit condensation, keeping the living space comfortable in various weather conditions.

In addition, the spacious ridge construction provides extra headroom and freedom of movement. This creates an open and comfortable living environment where sleeping, relaxing, and storage can be effortlessly combined. At the same time, the rectangular layout offers great flexibility for placing beds, furniture, and camping equipment.

Use and Intent

The Big Horn tents can be set up by one person in 5 to 10 minutes. Simply erect the frame, attach the canvas, stake the tent, and tension the guy ropes. The straight-wall design maximizes walking space and all-around ventilation. The tent is compatible with wood stoves via a separately installed Stove Exit.

Maintenance and Storage

Allow the canvas to dry completely before storing to prevent mold. Store the tent loosely folded in a dry, well-ventilated area. Clean with lukewarm water and a soft brush, without using any cleaning products. Treat annually with a water-repellent spray or wax to extend its lifespan.

Specifications

The CanvasCamp Big Horn series consists of spacious rectangular canvas tents with straight walls and exceptionally comfortable interior volume. Made with two types of canvas: a Tentex® PC39 roof (450 g/m² after coating) and Tentex® PC28 sidewalls (320 g/m² after coating). Both fabrics are breathable, water-repellent, UV-resistant, and mildew-resistant. The Big Horn 2.1 × 2.7 m offers 5.7 m² of floor space for 2-3 people, while the Big Horn 3 × 4.3 m offers 12.9 m² of space and sleeps 6. It has a hydrostatic head of 450 mm and the rip-stop PE groundsheet (> 5000 mm) is completely waterproof. It features two doors, four to six windows with fine mesh, and a generous 2 m headroom.
