Textile repair kits close a tear or a hole in your tent or clothing. A branch through the fabric, a spark from the fire or a zip that rips out: it happens faster than you think. With a kit you repair it on the spot, so you can carry on. In this collection you will therefore find adhesive patches and iron-on cloth.
Textile repair kits: stick or iron
You stick a patch such as Tear Aid straight over the tear. It bonds firmly and can handle a lot of use. So it is ideal on the go, because you need no tools for it. You use iron-on cloth at home. Simply lay it over the hole and iron it on, so it becomes part of the fabric. Both solutions last a long time, even with heavy use. Besides, such a kit weighs almost nothing, so it fits in any bag.
How to repair a tear
First, make the spot clean and dry, because nothing sticks to dirty fabric. Preferably do this straight away, since a small tear soon gets bigger. Cut the patch well larger than the tear. Round off the corners, so the patch does not come loose at a point. Then press the patch on firmly. For iron-on cloth, follow the instructions on the pack. Finally, check the type of fabric: there is a separate patch for PVC and vinyl.
