Tent stove

A tent stove makes camping in the cold a lot more pleasant. You heat your tent with it and you cook on it, so you get warmth and a hot meal from one source. The stoves in this collection burn wood. They are made for canvas tents, tipis, bushcraft and long trips. You will also find the flue kits and the accessories that go with them.

What a tent stove does for you

The wood burns well, so the stove gives an even heat. As a result, the tent stays warm, even on cold nights. Besides, every stove has a cooking surface. You can put a pan or a kettle on it. So you can boil water for coffee, or make a stew while your tent warms up. The build is sturdy and the materials can take the heat.

Which tent stove suits you

The choice mainly depends on how you camp. So first look at what matters most to you.

• A view of the fire. The Winnerwell Nomad View has a glass door and an extra side window. With three large windows, the Woodlander Double View gives even more view. The Pentagon has five sides, and through the windows you see the fire from every angle. That way you also get a cosy feel in your tent at night.
• Light and quick to take along. The Frontier is light and quick to set up. The Winnerwell Nomad comes in Medium and Large, with a window and a flat cooktop.
• Sturdy for a long stay. The Winnerwell Woodlander is solidly built, and the side shelves also work as a carrying handle. The Frontier Plus is a powerful stove for tents and campers.
• Air from outside the tent. An External Air stove takes its combustion air from outside. As a result, the oxygen level in your tent stays up and you get fewer cold draughts. In that case, choose the Marsfire, the Woodlander Plus External Air or a Double View with three windows, such as the Nomad Plus Double View.

The size of your stove and your tent

Choose a size that suits your tent. After all, a small tent needs less heat than a large one. Will you often take the stove along? Then a compact or folding model is handy, because it takes up the least space. If you camp in one place for a long time, the stove can be a bit larger and heavier. If you are unsure, check the size of each model and compare it with your tent.

Using a tent stove safely

The smoke has to go outside safely. That is why the flue pipe goes through a flue kit in the tent fabric. The CanvasCamp Exit flue kit keeps the pipe away from the canvas. If your tent has a sloping roof, choose the Exit 45°. A Winnerwell flashing kit or the angled flashing kit seals the gap between the flue kit and the pipe, so rain and wind stay out. With an External Air stove, the pipe goes through a triple wall heat shield. Also, always place the stove on a stable base, keep it away from the fabric and hang a carbon monoxide alarm in your tent.

Handy extras

With the Secondary Combustion Burner you burn the smoke gases a second time. That gives more heat and less smoke. The 3 litre water tank heats water around the pipe. And with a carry bag you can take the stove along safely.

A tent stove in your canvas tent

A tent stove belongs in a cotton tent, because canvas breathes and can handle the heat of the pipe. For example, read how to set up a bell tent 500 with a stove, or see a tipi tent with a stove. You will find all stoves of one brand under Winnerwell. In short, with the right stove and flue kit you camp warm, dry and safe, all year round. See all models below.
