Winnerwell Triple-Wall Heat Protector for External Air Tent Stove M

The Winnerwell External Air heat shield is the pipe section where the chimney passes through your tent fabric. A normal stove pipe is far too hot there, because it runs right past the fabric. This section, however, keeps the outer wall a lot cooler. As a result, you prevent scorch marks and the risk of fire.

How the Winnerwell External Air heat shield works

The pipe has three walls that slide into each other, with air in between. Inside, the smallest pipe carries the smoke away. The layers of air insulate, while the cooling holes let air flow through the jacket. That air then carries the heat off before it reaches the outer wall. So the pipe does its job on the inside, but stays much cooler on the outside.

In addition, the outer diameter is 150 mm, an exact fit for the Winnerwell Flashing Kit Large. That is on purpose, because the silicone collar of that kit can take 240 °C and no more. Therefore that collar needs this cool outer wall.

Take care when you set it up

Always use this section together with a Winnerwell sealing set. Without that set, the fabric still touches the pipe, so it can melt or burn. Also, never put the section straight on the stove. Fit it as the third pipe section or higher, counting from the stove. Lower down, the smoke is still so hot that even three walls are not enough.

The section uses AISI304 stainless steel. It has the same length as a normal pipe section, so it fits the build of your stove.
