Winnerwell Angled Flashing Kit for Tent Stove

The Winnerwell Angled Flashing Kit is a sealing set for the spot where the stove pipe leaves your tent. The set closes the gap between the stove jack and the pipe. As a result, no rain, wind or dirt gets in, and your tent stays dry. Moreover, its shape suits a sloping tent roof, such as that of the Winnerwell tipi tents.

How the Winnerwell Angled Flashing Kit works

The kit has a silicone collar, with rings of AISI304 stainless steel to hold it in place. That collar slides over the heat shield chimney and fits tightly around it. Next, you lay the outer edge of the kit over the tent fabric, around the stove jack. Then you fix it in place through the mounting holes.

So the whole thing works like lead flashing on a roof. Water thus runs over the kit to the outside, instead of along the pipe to the inside. The kit is oval rather than round. That is why it sits neatly on a sloping roof. After all, on a slope a round opening takes an oval shape, and this kit suits exactly that.

Important for your safety

Only use this set together with the Winnerwell triple-wall heat shield chimney. That applies to the 3.5 inch version as well as to the one for External Air stoves in size M. So never fit the kit straight onto a normal stove pipe. That pipe gets so hot that the silicone melts.

Also pay attention to the spot of the collar when you fit it. The top part of the heat shield chimney gets much hotter than the rest. Therefore the silicone collar must not sit level with or above the top cooling holes. The silicone can take 240 °C, but above the cooling holes it can get hotter.
