Camping lights and lanterns make evenings at the campsite cosy and safe. Think of a lamp on the table, a lantern on the tent pole or a small light by the door. That way you find your things, cook without spills and sit together in comfort when it is dark.
Camping lights and lanterns: which light where?
A camping lamp gives strong, even light. You hang it in the tent or put it on the table. For example, the Campfire from Falcon Eye gives 1720 lumens. A small lamp or a light stick, however, is handy when you walk off for a moment. There are also lamps with a flame effect, such as the Enviro from Mactronic. That gives a cosy mood without fire.
Power counts too. You can charge many of these lamps, so you do not keep buying batteries. They use LED. As a result, they burn long on one charge and last a long time.
What should you look for?
First, think about how you will use it. Do you want light in the whole tent? Then choose a strong lantern with lots of lumens. Do you want a cosy mood at dinner? In that case, a lamp with warm light is nicer, such as the ones from Barebones. Also check the weight if you walk a lot. A mini lantern weighs little and fits in your pocket. Finally, a sturdy lamp is a good idea, because things sometimes fall over at the campsite.
