Hammock accessories

Hammock accessories make your hammock complete. Think of a mosquito net, an underquilt or a set of straps to hang it up. With them, you lie warm, dry and free of midges. That is great at the campsite, but also for bushcraft or on a long hike.

Why use hammock accessories?

A hammock on its own is often not enough. Because the cold creeps in under your body, you soon feel it. An underquilt hangs under the hammock and keeps the warmth in. A mosquito net keeps the bugs out, so you sleep in peace. With good straps, the hammock hangs firm and safe between two trees. As a result, your hammock suits every season and all kinds of weather.

Ease of use counts too. A smart design hangs in a few seconds. Then you have time for the fire or for food. Strong fabric and sturdy hooks also last a long time, even with heavy use. So you soon have a cosy spot to rest.

What should you look for?

First, look at the season. Are you camping in summer? Then a mosquito net is often enough. Is it colder? In that case, an underquilt is a good choice. Next, check the straps. They need to be strong and hold the hammock firmly in place. Finally, make sure the hooks and straps can take your weight.
