Mugs belong on every camping trip. Think of coffee in the morning light, tea by the fire or soup when it is cold. A good mug makes that just a bit nicer. That is why you find mugs here in steel and in plastic, with and without a lid.
Which mugs suit you?
A stainless steel mug lasts a long time. It does not break, even when it falls out of your bag. A mug with a lid keeps your drink warm for longer and does not spill in the tent. A folding cup of plastic, however, is very light. You fold it flat, so it fits in any pocket.
Size counts too. A small cup of 250 ml is enough for coffee. Do you want soup or a big tea? Then choose 350 or 600 ml.
What should you look for?
First, think about your trip. Do you walk a lot? Then light and flat works best, such as the Fold-A-Cup from Wildo. Do you stay in one spot for long? In that case, a steel mug with a lid is lovely. Also check the grip. A handle is handy when your drink is hot. Finally, cups that stack save space in your camping box.
