Description
The Lifesaver Lifeline Straw water filter is a small filter in the shape of a straw. You use it to drink straight from a river, a lake or a stream. So you need no chemicals, no battery and no pump.
How the Lifesaver Lifeline Straw water filter works
The filter works in two steps. First, the water passes through a membrane. It removes 99.9999% of bacteria, and also 99.99% of parasites and microplastics. Then the water passes through an active carbon filter, which tackles nasty tastes and smells. In total, the Lifeline filters up to 5,000 litres of water.
Moreover, the Lifeline is the only straw with a test and a certificate from NSF International. This covers the NSF/ANSI 42 and NSF/ANSI 401 standards, among others. Thanks to FailSafe, the flow of water stops by itself as soon as the filter runs out. As a result, you never drink dirty water by mistake.
How to use the straw
Are you using the Lifeline for the first time, or is it dry? Then first stand it upright in drinking water for 1 to 2 minutes. You can also rinse it under the tap from the mouthpiece end, until the inside is wet. Do not drink the first water, about 100 ml. Have you not used the Lifeline for a long time? Or does the water flow more slowly, or taste different? Then it is wise to flush it through (backflushing).
