Use and Intent
Use and Intent
Proper pitching is essential for the longevity and optimal usability of your tent. First, choose a flat, clean surface and remove any sharp objects to protect the groundsheet. Unroll the tent with the door facing the right way and secure the groundsheet with pegs so it's taut, but not too tight. Then, position the center pole and A-frame and check that everything is level. Tighten the guy ropes evenly for stability and a taut canvas.
Make sure the groundsheet is fully closed to keep rain and insects out, and ensure adequate ventilation through openings or windows to prevent condensation. Always allow the tent to dry completely before storing it, and use heat sources at a safe distance from the canvas. Finally, protect the tent from prolonged exposure to sunlight when not in use.
Key Points of Interest:
- Flat surface without sharp objects
- Groundsheet taut but not tense
- Posts placed straight and firmly
- Guy lines properly tightened
- Sufficient ventilation and safe distance from heat source
Maintenance and Storage
Maintenance and Storage
A well-maintained tent is a faithful companion. With proper care, your Sibley Traveller will remain in top condition for years to come, even after many seasons of rain, sun, and adventure.
After each use:
- Always let the tent dry completely before packing it away. Even a little moisture can cause mold over time.
- Clean the canvas with lukewarm water and a soft brush – avoid soap, detergent, or pressure washers, as these can damage the protective coating.
- Regularly check zippers, guy ropes and poles for wear and replace parts as necessary.
For long-term storage:
- Store the tent in a dry, well-ventilated area, preferably out of direct sunlight.
- Use the original carrying bags for organized storage of tent, poles and pegs.
- Fold the cloth loosely to avoid wrinkles and tension in the material.
With a little care, the Traveller will remain as reliable as the day you bought it.

Specifications
Specifications
The Sibley Traveller series is made of Tentex® PC28, a premium, plain-weave, combed yarn tent fabric. This material combines durability with breathability and is specially designed to withstand a wide range of weather conditions. Thanks to its water-based coating, the fabric is UV- and fade-resistant, water-repellent, and treated to prevent mold and rot, while retaining its natural breathability. The coating is integrated into the fibers before production and therefore invisible, but it is essential for the quality and longevity of the tent.
